Marching Caption Supervisor, The Cadets
Austin Greene is a professional drill writer and has been a member of The Cadets Visual Staff since 2011. He assumed his current role as Marching Caption Supervisor for The Cadets in 2014.
Austin was a member and soloist in The Cadets from 2000 to 2002. He has served for three years as a program consultant for the Bands of America Grand National Finalist Kennesaw Mountain High School Marching Band and now works with the Western Carolina University “Pride of the Mountains” Marching Band. Austin attended Western Carolina University where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education in 2003. He went on to earn his Master of Music in Conducting Degree from the University of Connecticut in 2006.
Austin began his teaching career at North Forsyth High School in Winston-Salem, N.C. In 2006, he was named the Director of Bands at Concord High School in Concord, N.C., and in 2008, he accepted the position as Director of Bands and Performing Arts Department Chair at Durham School of the Arts. In 2010, he was hired as an adjunct instructor at the Dublin Institute of Technology's National Conservatory of Music in Dublin, Ireland.
In 2011, Austin turned his passion for the marching arts into a full-time career. He is a seasoned visual designer and arranger for numerous high schools and universities and is in regular demand as a clinician and adjudicator throughout the United States in both the fall and winter seasons.
Austin lives with his dog Toby in Raleigh, N.C. where he serves as the Visual Caption Head for the Green Hope and Sanderson High School Marching Bands.
